I am pleased to announce that Patch 0.28 is now available: this patch adds Balkan and West Anatolian provinces, Apostolic Sees mechanic and several automations.
Achaia
Achaia province is now playable, with three unique Provincial Spirits:
- Hellenic Scholarship: Reduce Research Cost by 1% for each core tile with Greek culture, up to 50%.
- Developed Administration: Reduce each tile's Governing Cost by 1% per level of Infrastructure, Production, and Population on that tile, up to 50%.
- Peaceful Renown: Gain +1% Prestige for each point of positive Stability while at peace, up to +25%.
Achaia also comes with 10 historical events spanning 214–799 AD and seven new missions. These offer opportunities to bring Epirus under your patronage through marriage and an alliance or defense pact, expand into Macedonia, Italia, and Asia, and gain rewards for establishing footholds in Thracia and Dalmatia.
Epirus
Epirus province is now playable, with three unique Provincial Spirits:
- Defensive Mandate: Gain +1 Consul Point after winning a war as lead defender.
- Defensive Mobilization: Gain +25% Land Tax and Tile Output while fighting as lead defender. Multiple wars do not stack this bonus.
- Hellenic Solidarity: Gain +1% Tile Defense on all core tiles for each core tile with Greek culture, up to +50%.
Epirus also comes with 10 historical events spanning 231–732 AD and seven new missions, six shared with Achaia. Forge a marriage bond and an alliance or defense pact to bring Achaia under your patronage, then pursue expansion across Macedonia, Italia, and the wider Balkans.
Macedonia
Macedonia province is now playable, with three unique Provincial Spirits:
- Military Innovation: Gain +1% War Power for each researched technology, up to +25%.
- Cultural Integration: Reduce Culture Conversion Cost by 20%.
- Cultural Ambition: Enemy tiles with your dominant or a tolerated culture contribute 20% less War Score.
Macedonia also comes with 10 historical events spanning 214–796 AD. New and expanded shared missions offer opportunities to bring Epirus under your patronage after annexing and coring Achaia, establish footholds in Italia and Dalmatia, expand through Moesia and Thracia, and secure the crossings into Asia and Bithynia.
Asia
Asia province is now playable, with three unique Provincial Spirits:
- Experienced Leadership: Gain +1 Stability for each General Skill Level across Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry.
- Military Industry: Gain +1% War Power per unit of production capacity allocated to Armor and Weapons combined, up to +25%.
- Pluralistic Renown: Gain +5% Prestige for each tolerated culture or religion, up to +25% total.
Asia also comes with 10 historical events spanning 214–770 AD and five new missions. Press claims to Bithynia, Galatia, or Lycia, bring Lycia under your patronage, and gain rewards for annexing and coring Galatia and Bithynia. Expanding to three times your starting number of core tiles offers a permanent +10% bonus to Land Tax, Tile Output, or Trade Profit.
Bithynia
Bithynia province is now playable, with three unique Provincial Spirits:
- Wartime Unity: Gain +10 Stability while at war.
- Developed Recruitment: Each tile gains +1% Manpower per level of Infrastructure, Production, and Population on that tile, up to +50%.
- Coastal Commerce: Gain +1% Trade Profit for each core coastal tile, up to +50%.
Bithynia also comes with 10 historical events spanning 258–727 AD and six new missions. Press claims to Asia, Cappadocia, or Galatia, earn rewards for establishing cores in these provinces and securing Hadrianoi and Sestos, and bring a diminished Asia under your patronage once Bithynia has at least 20 core tiles and Asia has at most five.
Anatolian League
- Added a unification mission for Asia, Bithynia, Cappadocia, Cilicia, Galatia, and Lycia. Annex and core all six provinces to form the Anatolian League.
- Masters of the Crossings and Between Two Seas are now available to Asia and Bithynia as well as Thracia and Macedonia.
Culture & Religion
- Culture and religion is moved into a separate panel from Internal Affairs
- Add a list of tiles in the province that has non-dominant culture and religion (can be converted directly in the page)
- Added separate switches to automatically evangelize tiles with minor or tolerated religions and convert tiles with minor or tolerated cultures. These actions use the same costs and cooldowns as manual actions.
Apostolic Sees
- Added Apostolic Sees in Rome, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. Each annexed see grants +1 yearly Christian Influence.
- Annexing all Apostolic Sees grants an additional +1 yearly Christian Influence per see.
- Constantinople becomes an Apostolic See after the First Council of Constantinople event.
- The Internal Affairs page now lists Apostolic Sees and their owners, with clickable links to their map locations.

QoLs
- The Outstanding Loans todo now turns red and displays a bankruptcy warning when monthly interest cost exceeds 90% of monthly revenue.
- Added an Automatically Core Tiles switch to Internal Affairs. When enabled, the province automatically makes an eligible non-core tile a core if it can afford the cost and the action is off cooldown.

Bugfixes
- Fix a bug where hiding todos does not work correctly
Future Plans
0.29 will add provinces in eastern Anatolia and the Levant. I will also make some balance adjustments, especially to the late game.
0.30 will add the remaining provinces: Aegyptus, Cyrenaica, Sardinia, and Corsica. I will also add historical narratives in 0.30: the Twenty Years’ Anarchy, the Rise of Islam, the Arab Conquests, and the Caliphate.
After 0.30, the game should be content-complete. But I’m not done with it yet! I already have plans for what comes next, and I’ll share them with you once they’ve taken clearer shape!
