Update v1.1.20261001 - A Trainer That Grades Your Decisions
Version 1.1 is the biggest change to the strategy side of Cyber Video Poker since launch.
A player sat down for about 450 hands and wrote us a long, careful review. The game, they said, was solid. The trainer could go further: tell me which mistakes actually mattered, stop leading with my credit loss when this is play money, show me this session next to my lifetime, and do not let the hands I played with the advisor open inflate my accuracy. Every one of those is in this update.
Here is everything in it.
🎯 A TRAINER THAT GRADES YOUR DECISIONS
Right or wrong was never the whole story. Keeping a kicker with a pair and throwing away a deuce are both "wrong", and one of them costs you five times more than the other.
Every hand you play is now graded by how much expected value your hold gave away, as a share of your bet:
- Optimal or Equivalent. You held the chart pick, or another hold worth exactly the same.
- Inaccuracy. Under 3% of a bet. The close calls: K-Q-J offsuit kept as Q-J.
- Mistake. 3% to 25% of a bet. Keeping a kicker with a pair, throwing away a high card.
- Blunder. 25% of a bet or more. Breaking a pair of Jacks for a four-card flush, discarding a deuce.
After every DRAW the advisor tells you what you held, what the chart held, the grade, what the decision cost you in dollars, and both expected values side by side. REPLAY WITH CHART PICK redraws the hand the chart's way, for training only, so you can see what the other road looked like.
It grades the decision, not the result. Hold the wrong cards and hit two pair anyway, and it still says MISTAKE. Play it perfectly and draw nothing, and it still says OPTIMAL.
On feature machines, the cost counts whatever multiplier was riding on that hand, so a mistake under a 4x multiplier costs four times as much.
🧠 A SMARTER STRATEGY ADVISOR
Every paytable in the game now has its own strategy chart. Each one was measured against mathematically perfect play over every possible deal, and following the advisor now plays within a hair of perfect on every machine.
This matters most where it was weakest. On Deuces Wild and Joker Poker the old charts got whole families of hands wrong: they could tell you to throw away a pair in Deuces Wild, or to drop the Joker from a hand that was already three of a kind. If you trusted the advisor on those machines, it cost you. It does not any more.
The advice also reads better. Instead of a rule number you get the hold in plain words:
- HOLD: Pair of Jacks
- HOLD: Suited Q-J
- HOLD: 4 to a Royal Flush (with Deuce)
- HOLD: Joker + Pair of Sevens
The advisor panel is also easier to live with:
- Resizable. Drag its bottom-right corner to make it as big as you like. No more scrolling inside a tiny box. Double-click the corner to put it back to its default size.
- It stays where you left it. Leave it open and it is still open when you come back from the lobby or restart the game. Close it and it stays closed.
- A cleaner footer. Your session numbers now sit one per line instead of being squeezed onto one row.
👁️ WITH THE ADVISOR, OR WITHOUT IT
Accuracy used to blend everything together, including the hands where the advisor was lighting up the answer for you. Now it is split.
A hand counts as played with advisor if the panel was open at any moment between DEAL and DRAW. Open it after DRAW to review a hand and nothing changes. Your own accuracy is measured only on the hands you decided yourself, and your advisor-assisted hands are tracked right next to it. Learn with it open, then close it and find out what stuck.
📊 A SESSION REVIEW ABOUT YOUR PLAY, NOT JUST YOUR BANKROLL
The review used to lead with your net loss in big magenta numbers. This is play money. What you want to know is how well you played.
The top of the screen now carries three tiles of equal size:
- NET CHANGE. What the session did to your bankroll.
- DECISIONS. The share of hands you played by the chart without the advisor, with your lifetime figure beside it so you can see yourself improving, and your advisor-open accuracy underneath.
- EV GIVEN AWAY. What your mistakes cost in expected value, with the count of blunders, mistakes and inaccuracies.
Under them, one line tells you which drove the result. Play the chart and lose, and it says so: the loss was the cards, not you. Then your three costliest mistakes of the session, each with the hand you were dealt, what you held and what the chart held.
📈 WHERE YOU GO WRONG
Open STATS (key S) and the STRATEGY tab has been rebuilt around one question: what should I study next?
- Your accuracy with and without the advisor.
- Cost per hand: the expected value you give away on an average hand. The single number that separates a player who misses close calls from one who throws away pairs.
- WHERE YOU GO WRONG. Every situation you misplay, grouped by what the right play was (a Low Pair, 3 to a Royal Flush, 2 Suited High Cards and so on), with how often you saw it, how often you missed it and what it cost you, sorted by cost. The top row is your next lesson.
- Your costliest recent mistakes, hand by hand, on all machines or just the one you are playing.
- RESET TRAINER STATS, if you want a clean start. It does not touch your achievements, bankroll or history.
The HISTORY tab gains an ACC column, so every session you play shows how many hands you got right.
🛠️ FIXES
- Wild cards no longer arrive late. On Deuces Wild and Joker Poker the deuces and the Joker appeared a fraction of a second after the rest of the hand. They now land with everything else, on the deal and on the draw.
- DRAW no longer stutters on Deuces Wild. The game was doing its strategy math in the instant you pressed the button. It now happens in the background, and the cards move immediately. Your grade follows a moment later, usually in well under a second.
- The glowing background grid no longer shows through the cards. It now stays behind the hand where it belongs.
- Paytable corrections. Five machines were paying differently from the tables they are named for, and have been brought in line: Blaze Aces (now the standard 9/5 table), Triple Prestige, Prime Dual Bonus (9/5, with its face card tier), Max Aces and Deuces Prestige.
🎰 MORE GAMES
The machine selection screen has a new yellow MORE GAMES button next to the filters. It opens TheVegasLab.com in your browser, where you will find the rest of our casino titles. The prompt at the bottom of the machine grid now reads MORE MACHINES BELOW, so the two never get mixed up.
The user manual has a new section on the Strategy Advisor and the trainer, and the session review and stats chapters have been rewritten to match.
WHAT YOU GET, AS ALWAYS
One price. No ads. No microtransactions. No loot boxes. No daily login rewards. No energy timers. Every update since launch has been free, and this one is no different.
Keep the reports coming. Graded mistakes, the advisor split, the new session review and the deuces fix all exist because somebody took the time to describe exactly what they were seeing. Good luck at the machines. 🃏
