Hey everyone!

We’ve got a BIG update for you guys! v1.1 brings Careers, a lot more freedom in how you build your house, a massive economy rebalance, and a whole bunch of new content, improvements, and fixes across the town.

New Feature - Careers

We wanted to make sure Careers were a new optional goal to progress alongside everything else you do in the game, but we also didn’t want them to be the only thing you ever get to do.

With that in mind, your Career will require you to work 3 times a week, 4 hours per shift, for a total of 12 hours per in-game week.

We also wanted you to play your own way and plan your own time, so you can select which 3 days of the week you want to work (except Sunday), as well as which shift you want to work: Morning, Evening, or Night.

Later Career Levels will also require a University Diploma, so get those studies in order when possible!

A new small side quest has also been added to introduce the Career system.

New Feature - Construction Materials

The previous economy was way too punishing for all your creativity and passion.

This new system allows full creative control of your house from the very start of the game!

Any construction-related changes you make to your house will cost or refund the full price in Construction Materials. This allows you to reshape your house anytime without giving you an incentive to sell a wall or two just to buy a new TV.

If you run out of Construction Materials, you can easily convert any necessary funds to finish your purchase when saving your changes in Build Mode. Just remember that you cannot convert those funds back, so make sure you’re happy with your investment.

You can also earn Construction Materials by completing quests, and any existing save files will retroactively receive any materials they rightfully own. Make sure to check your mail at the Post Office to receive them! We might consider new ways to acquire Construction Materials in the future.

We also updated a lot of the construction prices, so check those out in the full economy change breakdown below.

For returning players who constructed their house using the old prices, if you destroy already existing Walls, Wallpaper, Fences and Floors, you’ll receive the price you originally paid for it if it was higher than the new price. So, get renovating!

A new small side quest has also been added to introduce the new Construction Materials.

Economy Update

We took a look through ALL the items in the game and made a bunch of changes to their prices and tiers!

There are quite a few changes, so we’ll leave the full list of changes at the end of the post for anyone who wants to take a closer look.

Noticeboard Jobs and Fair Quests

We noticed some of these quests were way too punishing and sometimes just not that fun, so we changed them quite a bit:

• Revamped Noticeboard tasks to better balance their difficulty and fairness.

• Delivery tasks now require fixed quantities of items.

• When delivering items to Noticeboard Jobs, you will receive a reward based on the value of the delivered item, plus a bonus based on the difficulty of the quest.

• Added 3 new writing interactions for the Noticeboard Jobs:

  • Write Fanfiction

  • Write a Short Story

  • Write a Handwritten Book

Spring

• The Festival of Eggs now requires 12 eggs to be picked up, with a lot more eggs available to find.

• Eggs collected during the Easter event can now be sold or eaten.

Summer

• The lantern quest now requires only 1 item of each type.

• Fixed the lantern tooltip so it correctly displays the required item when approaching the lantern.

Winter

• Snowmen will now remain active throughout the Winter Solstice Festival.

• More broken snowmen will appear during the festival, giving you more chances to complete the quest.

Painting

• Removed tags from painting names.

• Renamed Smudgy to Coloured Smudgy.

• Easel interactions are now visible and display their requirements.

• Fixed an issue where painting a small painting could sometimes produce a different size.

• Added the Style tag to paintings.

• Updated painting prices so higher Visual Art levels make paintings more valuable.

• Painting time has been balanced across Easel tiers, with higher-tier Easels taking less time.

• Paintings can now receive additional value when sold at the Saturday auction based on their quality.

• Paintings can also receive an increase in value after being sold, depending on their quality.

• Cooking: Updated some recipes to require fewer ingredients:
