This is the biggest update Suds has ever had. A whole new mode, giant plant bosses, power-ups you can save for later, full controller support and a long list of fixes. Here is everything that is waiting for you.
NEW: Hero Mode

Your friends have been locked in cages, and only you can bring them home. Hero is a new single-player mode with fifteen handmade levels, and on every one of them the job is the same: open the cages and lead everyone back to safety.
Open the cages. Every cage is opened by buttons on the floor, somewhere else on the level. Each button only stays down for a while, so press them all before the first one pops back up.
Lead them home. Freed friends follow you in a line. They only count once you have walked them all the way to the safe room, and the slimes will be after them the whole way.
Heal the sick. Some of your friends come out of the cage with a fever. Stand next to them and hold the button to cure them. Do not leave anyone waiting too long.
Keys and locked doors. Some doors are locked. Win the key from a golden guard, or solve the puzzle of symbols on the floor.
Collect three stars. One for finishing the level, one for bringing everyone home, and one for finding the bronze, silver and gold treasure slimes.
Hero Endless. No map and no stars, just one clock. See how many you can save.
NEW: Plant Bosses

Every fifth level ends in a greenhouse, where a giant carnivorous plant has grown right over the last cage. Beat it to get your friend out.
The Green Gorger bites and spits out slimes. The Blue Maw bites, spits and sprays, and it waits behind a locked door. The Crimson Crown is the worst of them: every time you break its health bar it blooms again in a new colour, first green, then yellow, then red, and hits harder each time.
Corrida players, one of them has found its way into your ring too. The last wave is a plant now, and the bulls are your best weapon against it.
NEW: Charms

Power-ups you can save for later. Pick one up, keep it, and use it exactly when you need it.
The bomb clears the whole floor.
The pulse (new) pushes every slime around you away.
The freeze (new) turns everything in the room into ice.
Switch between them with 5 on the keyboard or D-pad up on a controller, and use them with your power button.
And then there is the tornado. Grab it and you become one, spinning through the slimes for seven seconds. It turns up when you play Endless or Hero on your own, and you will not forget the first time.
Full Controller Support
Suds can now be played from start to finish on a controller. Every menu and lobby works with a pad, the buttons on screen match the controller in your hands, aim lock keeps your shots on target, and there is an on-screen keyboard for logging in, typing your name and entering match codes.
Playing Together
Your colour is your colour. The colour you pick in the lobby is now exactly the colour you play in, and if you choose random, the lobby shows you the colour you will get.
Infected from the start. If you turn Infected on before searching for a match, the lobby already has your vote on it.
Friends. The results screen lets you add the people you just played with, and you can invite friends straight into your lobby.
Same version, same match. Online matchmaking only pairs players on the same version of the game. If you cannot find anybody, make sure Steam has finished updating Suds.
Everything Else
12 new achievements for Hero, 19 in total.
A Hero leaderboard of its own.
Thirteen languages, with every new line translated.
Throwing is now on V, so you can throw while you move.
New sounds for fireballs, throwable items and popping slimes.
A clearer screen in Corrida and Infection, and one health bar for bulls and players alike.
Shadows under everything on the floor, and a warmer look to every arena.
A Discord button on the title screen. Come and say hello!
Fixes
Slimes no longer ride on top of the player.
Fireballs shot from behind a cage now fly behind it, not over it.
The Corrida achievement can now be earned.
Online Infection shows the fever correctly on every player's screen.
Players who leave a match now disappear for everyone.
Single-player scores reach the leaderboard straight away.
Leaving a match fades out cleanly instead of flashing purple.
Many smaller fixes to menus, fonts and how things are drawn on top of each other.
Thank you for playing, and for all the feedback that went into this update. Tell us how far you got in Hero on our Discord!
