🎃 HALLOWEEN COMES TO NOCTIRIA
It's October 1st.
And that means NOCTIRIA is officially getting ready for Halloween.
The Main Menu, Merchant, Rest Site and other map nodes have received new Halloween decorations.
Pumpkins, decorations and small seasonal changes will accompany your runs throughout the month.
And we're not done yet.
More Halloween surprises will arrive throughout October.
Consider this only the beginning.
🏆 STEAM LEADERBOARDS REWORKED
We've completed a major update to the Steam Leaderboards.
The Highest Turn Damage leaderboard now records the damage actually generated by attacks after modifiers are applied.
This means overkill damage is correctly counted: if you deal 321 damage to an enemy with 240 HP remaining, the recorded value will be 321 instead of 240.
Damage absorbed by Shield is now handled correctly as well.
In addition:
- damage dealt during Destruction no longer affects the normal Highest Turn Damage leaderboard;
- Destruction and regular combat records are handled separately;
- records that cannot immediately be uploaded to Steam are saved and retried on future launches;
- the personal best notification no longer depends on reaching the highest leaderboard positions;
- leaderboards now display the character used to obtain each record;
- visible rankings have been expanded from the Top 50 to the Top 100.
Now you can see not only who did something ridiculous, but which character they used to do it.
☠️ POISON AND INTOXICATION
The interaction between Poison and Intoxication has now been fully standardized.
Anything that heals or removes Poison now correctly affects Intoxication as well.
All affected cards, consumables and relics have been updated.
🧹 STATUS REMOVAL
We've also reviewed effects that claim to remove all negative status effects.
They now actually do.
Statuses with separate runtime systems have also been corrected, preventing effects from continuing after their visible status had already been removed.
The entire Dark Purge evolution line has been fixed as well.
🌫️ MISTY ECHO
The behavior of Misty Echo and its evolutions has been corrected and clarified.
The effect does not immediately execute the next played card a second time.
Instead, it adds a temporary copy of that card to the discard pile.
The effect also remains active after ending the turn until a card is actually played.
Infinite Echo adds two copies.
Descriptions have also been updated across all supported languages.
🪱 PROGENY
We've revised the following card line:
Subcutaneous Egg → Organic Incubation → Infected Gestation → Endoparasitic Nest
Different evolutions now create Progeny with different starting stats.
If a Progeny is already on the field, playing one of these cards advances it through its forms:
Larva → Chrysalis → Aberration → Predator → Mother
Descriptions and localizations have been updated to make each evolution much clearer.
🌊 DROWNING GETS STRONGER
Drowning inflicted on enemies now becomes progressively stronger during the same battle.
Successive explosions deal:
20 → 30 → 40 → 50 → 60 damage
From the fifth explosion onward, damage remains capped at 60.
The progression resets at the beginning of each new battle.
Drowning inflicted on the player by enemies keeps its previous behavior.
🌫️ MIST CAN NO LONGER COLLAPSE
A particularly rare issue could occur when accumulating enormous amounts of Mist.
At extremely high values, the counter could reach its internal numerical limit and suddenly return to zero.
This can no longer happen.
Extreme values are now handled safely, so you can continue pushing Mist toward completely irresponsible numbers.
🎃 OCTOBER HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN
The Halloween decorations are only the first step.
More seasonal surprises will arrive throughout the month.
We're also continuing to work through your reports, especially the strangest behaviors produced by extreme builds and combinations.
Thank you, as always, to everyone playing, testing and helping us improve the game.
See you in NOCTIRIA.
