Balance patch
Difficulty now lives in what you see — not in what you are denied.- Interference no longer resets frame loading. The part already received stays on screen and the damaged band refills on its own; a scan hit by interference rolls back instead of vanishing.
- The frame no longer goes blind while the rover spins in quickdust or pushes against a boulder — only when the camera actually moves.
- Wind gusts, interference and ground tremors no longer pile on while you're stuck. At least 20 seconds between gusts, and 10 quiet seconds after you break free.
- The drawn track no longer leads into fissures. Fissures stay on the sites — beside the track and across it — but program stops no longer sit inside one, and fissures are now drawn on the map above the corridor.
- TIKHAYA CRATER: session limit raised from 50 to 54 minutes, fewer gusts and tremors.
- RUSALKA PLATEAU now introduces quickdust — every site brings one new threat.
- KALINA SCARP: the track runs over level ground, so the rover no longer tips over while following it. The slopes around it are unchanged.
- ARTEMIS CANYON: session limit raised from 53 to 55 minutes.
- Every session shows an anomaly within the first minute and a half, and the screen is never left empty for much longer than a minute.
- Hold H to read the memo on your desk. After the briefing, your gaze shows you where it lies.
- The briefing in Korean and Thai no longer overflows its column.
New mode: OUTPOST
Below the seven sites in the menu there is a new section, OUTSIDE THE PROGRAM, with two rows: OUTPOST · ENDLESS and OUTPOST · DAILY. No comm window needed — just TAKE THE WATCH.The rover's travel drive has failed. It cannot move — only pivot in place. Your orders from Command fit in one line: confirm harvesters before they leave. You must not be wrong.
- Look — A/D pivots the rover. The panorama compass shows how long ago each direction was last seen.
- Frame — SPACE marks an area, SPACE again opens the menu.
- Zoom — scan the framed area to full resolution in any of the eight channels (←/→ switches columns).
- Confirm — report the area as a harvester. Command answers in 5–15 seconds: CONFIRMED or FALSE TARGET.
The picture changes through brief losses of signal, and gusts black out the screen entirely. Between frames, things move — and later, they come closer. Three phases: readable, mimicry, approach. False targets and harvesters that slip away erode the reliability of the picture; when it collapses, the signal is lost. No jump scares.
Every watch ends with a card — time on watch, confirmed, false targets, gone, best — saved as an image and to your Steam screenshots. The daily outpost starts the same for everyone (the day changes at 00:00 UTC), and today's best are listed on a Steam leaderboard. Press ESC and confirm with ENTER to hand over the watch at any time.
