Captain Hardcore v0.25 is now live, and it's one of the largest updates so far.
Version 0.25 lays the foundations for the next part of the story. It includes a major overhaul of the first story mission, new weapons and gameplay systems, a huge expansion to character customization with over 300 new clothing items, Arena Trial improvements, difficulty settings, performance improvements, and a huge number of fixes and quality-of-life improvements.






Broken Core Overhaul
The first story mission, Broken Core, has been extensively redesigned and improved.
Major overhaul of the procedural level generation system.
New and improved room layouts, including larger high-ceiling rooms and more varied environments.
Added new fire jets, electrical hazards, and toxic gas leaks throughout the station.
Some hazards can be turned against your enemies - lure them into electrical hazards and let the environment do the dirty work.
Improved enemy distribution throughout Broken Core.
Improved ammo spawning throughout Broken Core.
Numerous room, navigation, collision, and procedural-generation fixes.

New Weapon Unlock System
The way weapons are acquired during Story Mode has been redesigned.
Added a new weapon unlock and progression system.
Weapons are now unlocked progressively as you advance through the story.
Weapons can spawn procedurally during missions.
Added new large loot chests containing weapons and ammunition.
Enabling Skip Story will automatically unlock all weapons.

New Enemy Manager & Spawning System
Implemented a completely new Enemy Manager for controlling enemy encounters throughout Story Mode.
Added a new Enemy Spawner system, replacing the previous enemy spawning logic.
Enemy numbers are now dynamically controlled based on level progression and difficulty.
More dangerous enemy types are now introduced progressively rather than appearing immediately.
Provides much greater control over when and where different enemy types are introduced.
Fapling horde size is now scaled with difficulty.
Difficulty Settings
Story Mode now has Easy, Normal, and Hardcore difficulty options in the game settings menu.
Enemy numbers and enemy damage now scale with the selected difficulty level, creating increasingly intense encounters on higher difficulties.
Added God Mode for players who want to experience Story Mode without taking damage.
New & Upgraded Weapons
The Load Blower - A formidable rapid-fire weapon that becomes increasingly devastating the longer you hold the trigger, continuously ramping up its rate of fire.
Ultimate Pleasure Device (UPD) - Significantly upgraded into a devastating super weapon that unleashes extreme pleasure... or pain.
Integrated the new weapon content into the updated Story Mode progression and weapon unlock system.
Added appropriate ammunition and pickups.
Arena Trial Overhaul
Arena Trial has received a substantial update with new procedural environments from Broken Core.
Arena Trial can now be accessed directly from the Captain's PC on board the ship.
Added an enemies remaining display.
Added Personal Best tracking. Your highest Arena Trial wave is now displayed on the Captain's PC screen.
Massive Clothing Expansion
Character clothing has received its largest content expansion yet.
Added more than 300 new clothing and accessory items, including numerous texture and material variations.
Added new tops, bottoms, underwear, skirts, dresses, footwear, accessories, horns, tails, jewellery, and other options.
Added a new custom weighting system for dresses, providing much smoother deformation, especially during extreme poses, with far less stretching between the legs.




Animation Presets
Added support for saving animation presets.
All animation data is saved to a
.chapreset file which can be shared between players.Presets include pose data, all captured motions, hand poses, and expressions.
Note: Animation Presets are currently in beta, so you may encounter occasional issues.
Spawnable Meshes
Overhauled how the game handles static objects, allowing for many more spawnables to be added.
All objects are now organized into categories.
Added scale control for all objects.
Added a new water object that can be used to create pools, etc.
Fixed an issue where selecting a new prop to spawn could cause the previously selected prop to become undeletable.
Added many new spawnable objects for decorating your scenes.
New Food Based Toys
Added 6 new fruit and vegetable toys.
Added 9 new ice cream and popsicle toys.
Added new insertable bottles.





Pleasure Manipulator
Added the new Pleasure Manipulator machine.
Independently control Arms and Head positions.
Adjustable speed and depth controls.
Fully adjustable positioning allows the machine to be set up for different poses.

Mega Buy Vending Machine Upgrades
Mega Buy vending machines have received a visual overhaul.
Added new voice lines and reactions - Mega Buy will now insult you while you shop.

Improved VR Item Menu
Separated items into Weapons and Tools.
Hovering over an item now displays its name and description.
Undiscovered weapons are not shown until you find them.
Quality of Life & Customization Improvements
Clothing lists now sort items in proper alphabetical order using their in-game names.
Clothing lists now highlight the currently equipped item, making it much easier to see what the character is wearing.
Clothing, Face Preset, and Skin Preset lists now automatically initialize their scroll position to keep the equipped item visible when opened.
Fixed a bug where male clothing category buttons opened the wrong category list.
Particle effect scale is now adjustable.
Improved Arena Trial feedback.
Hair Improvements
Fixed an issue with the hair shader that could cause hair to become transparent or disappear at a distance due to the technique used for hair rendering.
Improved hair rendering also applies to facial hair.
Enemy AI & Navigation
Improved enemy cleanup after death.
Fixed issues where destroyed enemies could leave behind avoidance/navigation data and interfere with surviving enemies.
Improved crowd avoidance behaviour during large encounters.
Improved AI behaviour around doors and procedural environments.
Various navigation and pathfinding improvements.
Fixed Fapbot voice-line attenuation, preventing their voices from being heard from long distances.
Performance & Procedural Generation
Fixed a major performance degradation issue that could occur after progressing through multiple Broken Core decks.
Improved cleanup of procedural dungeon systems after generation.
Improved cleanup when moving between decks.
Reduced unnecessary processing left behind by previously generated dungeon areas.
Improved handling and cleanup of dynamically generated actors.
Character & Story Event Reliability
Fixed race conditions where story events could trigger before required characters had finished spawning.
Added additional safeguards for events that depend on specific characters being available.
Level Streaming & Stability
Fixed cases where the player or characters could fall through the world while a new level was loading.
All characters are now safely handled while floors and streamed levels are being replaced.
Added additional safeguards for unusually low frame rates or slow level streaming.
