THE GREAT SEVERANCE

Forty-one heroes, well over a thousand cards, and no way to learn what any one hero was actually for.

Every draft pulled from a pool too wide to plan around. Three map nodes did the job of one. Relics sat in the pool that no run could reach. This update cuts each hero, each node and each reward back to what it is meant to do — and then paints the kingdom it left behind.

Everything below is free, and none of it is a second purchase. Your saves carry over.

⚔️ Forty-Five Cards Per Hero

  • Every one of the 41 heroes now plays from exactly 45 cards. 10 Attack, 10 Specialty Attack, 5 Defense, 5 Specialty Defense, 3 Legendary, 2 Legendary+ and 10 shared Utility. The eight gods count their eight Myth cards inside that 45.

  • 297 cards retire to the Void. A new Codex archive keeps every one of them readable, grouped by the hero it belonged to. 45 new Recast cards fill the gaps the cut left in The Crossing and The Ancients rosters.

  • Attacks attack, defenses defend. 196 cards traded Mana, Draw, Shuffle and hand tricks for combat effects that fit their hero. Card economy now lives in the shared Utility set, where every hero can reach it.

  • Hero traits match their decks. Knight, Inquisitor, Nightblade, Druid and the five fusion heroes lose off-element bonuses and penalties their pools no longer need, and gain traits that reward the cards they actually hold.

🎲 Fairer Offers, No More Shopping for Cards

  • Card offers weigh rarity, not hero multipliers. Common, Rare, Legendary and Legendary+ roll 90 : 7 : 2 : 1 in drafts, rewards and shops alike.

  • The Card Sanctum is retired. Every eligible card now reaches your drafts on its own — no Essence purchase first. In its place The Forge gains Fate's Lens, a five-rank capstone that tilts offers toward Rare and above.

  • Nothing you paid for is lost. Every card you bought in the Sanctum, and every unlock that retired to the Void, returns 500 Essence — once, with a notice you can skip.

🗺️ A Leaner Map

  • Elite, Gauntlet and Duel become one Elite node. Win and roll one of three rewards: a free upgrade, a legendary card, or a guaranteed relic.

  • Rest Sites absorb Echo Chambers. Heal, upgrade a card, or duplicate one — your choice.

  • Shrines 12 → 10, Treasure 14 → 10, Curses 20 → 10. Every survivor was reworked to earn its slot; the merged ones fold their best effect into a partner.

  • Relics 35 → 17 in the base pool. Unreachable and outdated relics retire; the ones that stay were refined.

  • Old maps still resolve. A saved run standing on a retired node finishes it exactly as it was.

🎨 A Painted Kingdom

  • 41 Select Hero backgrounds — a painted scene behind every hero.

  • 41 card panels — every card face now sits on its hero's own textured plate.

  • 14 Forge backdrops, 15 Ancient signature icons, and painted textures behind Codex treasures, relics, curses and map nodes.

  • Enemy attacks play as a sequence. A wind-up, a lunge or a thrown projectile, then the hit — multi-hit attacks stagger, damage numbers arrive with each blow, and a fully blocked strike says so.

📖 A Game You Can Learn

  • How to Play is rebuilt. A quick start, a four-step combat walkthrough, keyboard controls and six searchable topics, all reading live game numbers so the guide can never drift from the rules.

  • Codex text speaks in keywords. Descriptions across every shelf color their keywords and elements; hover one for its guide. Good effects read green, harmful ones red.

  • The Codex fills its pages. Wider tiles, larger text, hero pickers grouped by pack, and lore that opens from its scroll instead of covering the art.

🧹 Fixes

  • Elemental enemies throw elemental hits even when their impact art is still loading, instead of a red claw.

  • Enemy Adamant shows how much is left, not the fixed cap.

  • Momentum names itself on your status bar, with its live bonus.

  • Select Hero counts how many heroes each page and pack has open.

📦 Free, All of It

Every line above is base game — no expansion required, nothing here is a second purchase. Runs in progress, retired cards in your deck and saved rewards all carry across. All four expansions — The Scorching Region, Overflow, Day & Night and GODS — follow the same 45-card rule. Localized in English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, French, German and Russian.

The kingdom was too big to know. Now every hero has a shape.
