This one has been cookin' for a while. A mix of bug fixes, visual improvements, and some long overdue cleanup. A big thank you to a Reddit user whose detailed feedback drove a lot of what's in this update!
BUG FIXES
This is probably the biggest noticeable change in gameplay. I Found why some sessions were feeling slow to get going. A LOT of the tasks were using an old setting that required BOTH players to be completely undressed before the task could appear, even when the task only needed one player undressed. That was quietly blocking a huge chunk of the task pool early in sessions. The fix is being rolled out now and is about halfway done, you should already notice sessions feeling more active and a lot more foreplay from the start, with more improvements coming as the rest are updated.
Some players were seeing rainbow-smeared glitchy text on the 3D board. Turns out a visual effect called "glow" was clashing with certain GPU drivers. It's been removed - you won't notice the difference on most hardware, but if you were seeing that issue, it's gone.
Fixed a bug where the game was treating a skirt as blocking access to the bottom half, even when a skirt can be lifted without being removed. This was incorrectly hiding task cards that required bottom access even when the skirt was the only bottom garment worn.
Fixed prop Give preferences being wiped every time you saved your profile. If you had set which props you were comfortable using on someone else, those settings were resetting themselves every save. They stick now.
VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS
The text on 3D board tiles is much easier to read now. Text has a dark outline so it doesn't disappear into the tile color, the font automatically switches between dark and light depending on the tile it's sitting on, and the font is a bit bigger overall.
The colored "Ownership" rectangle on each property tile now matches the owning player's color. Game pieces also glow a little more with their player color now instead of looking super dull under the board lighting.
Event spaces, Open Bar, Red Light District, and unclaimed Wild Spaces no longer show an ownership rectangle. That little bar is now a "this space can be bought" signal only. Wild Spaces show nothing until someone claims one, then it lights up in their color right away.
Silver has been removed from the player color picker - it was basically white and hard to see on the board. It's been replaced with a proper vivid Red, and the full color order has been tidied up.
The heat gauge now sits in its own dark panel in the top bar, the flame icons are bigger and brighter, and the active pips flicker like actual fire. Much easier to see.
UI IMPROVEMENTS
You can now click directly on the dice to roll instead of having to hit the roll button.
The Heart Roll button has been removed from the board. Good riddance, it was cluttering up the HUD. Initially, I had the heart button for the 2d board, and didn't even think of being able to just click on dice to roll, so I just ported it over. lol.. live and learn. Thanks Reddit user :)
The Store, Properties, Profiles, and Rules buttons have been moved from the bottom of the screen up to the top bar. They were overlapping the board when you zoomed in, which was annoying. Store and Properties are on the left of the heat meter, Profiles and Rules are on the right.
The clothing count in your player box now shows as X/Y - for example "3/5" - so you can see how many items you are currently wearing out of how many you started with. Clicking on it will show you the exact clothing you are or aren't wearing anymore.
The Props tab in your profile has been redesigned. Each prop now has separate Give and Receive checkboxes, so you can say "I'm fine using this on someone else but not having it used on me" - or any combination. The consent engine has always worked this way, the UI just wasn't showing it clearly.
CONSENT AND SAFETY
A new popup now appears before any session where the Red Light District is turned on. It gives everyone at the table a quick heads-up about what the RLD actually does, and lets anyone turn it off before the game starts with one tap. It needs an actual button press to get past it - no accidental dismissals.
Every RLD task card now shows a reminder at the bottom that any player can say no at any time, no explanation needed.
The little tip screen you see before the game starts has had its messages rewritten to be clearer as to what they are actually talking about.
I have done some work on the Intensity guide. Moving some things around so they fit more with the levels and where they should be in intensity.
RULES POPUP
The rules popup was embarrassingly out of date. It has been completely rewritten and now covers how the game actually works - including Open Play, the Dungeon and Warden's Challenge, Consent, and a full explanation of the Red Light District.
TASK EDITOR
The Props and Toys section has been rebuilt as a proper grid where you can set who gives and who receives each prop, per role. The consent engine now enforces those directions when drawing tasks.
Two new clothing states are available for authors: "Outer top on" and "Outer bottoms on" for tasks where a shirt or pants are still covering their respective areas. So for example: With "Outer bottoms on" This means that a player can be fully nude on top, but still have their outer clothing like pants still on their legs.
Added an "Exempt from Red Light District" checkbox so certain tasks can be kept out of RLD draws entirely. This is good for consent tasks. For example: A task where someone is blindfolded, and the task calls for another player to "Do" something to them without their knowledge. RLD is still 100% Consent, it only "Suggests" and if a player doesn't know what could happen, then they cannot agree to the task.
Added a "Removal is optional" flag for clothing removal tasks. Checking it adds a "Keep It On" button to the task card so players can choose whether to actually remove anything. This was created for tasks where a player "teases a reveal" but gets to decide whether or not to actually take off their clothing, or leave it on. I bet you guys could come up with some other cool ways to use this feature.
All clothing state labels have been rewritten to clearly say what they actually do.
INTENSITY GUIDE
Several category descriptions and level placements have been updated to better reflect how acts actually progress. The guide is still actively being refined as the task database grows, expect it to keep improving.
WEBSITE
The buy buttons on eroscreative.ca now correctly say "Buy on Steam" and "Buy on Itch.io." The Steam card has been updated to say "Available Now."
WHAT'S COMING
Group tasks - The game already supports 3-4 players, and group tasks designed specifically for multiple players at once are in the works. The engine is mostly built for it, we mostly just need the content.. but they take a LOT of time to think up.. Any suggestions for scenes would be greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas, go to the website and send me an email. :)
D/s role assignment - Right now Dominant and Submissive tasks are tied to who owns the property and who landed on it. I'm working on making the game smarter about this. It will look at each player's profile and assign the Dom or Sub role to the right person regardless of who owns the space.
Stats and awards - Per-game and lifetime stats tied to specific acts in each task. Running totals per session and also across every session you've ever played. This one is going to be a lot of fun.
Economy rethink - The upgrade system is being reconsidered. The idea is to move toward rent being based on how explicit a property is and what heat level the task is, rather than buying upgrade stages. Still being worked out but it should feel much more natural.
Android - A mobile version is on the radar.
