After a long development journey, Urbanism is officially released on Steam!
Urbanism is a single-player atmospheric horror experience focused on exploration, investigation, and surviving what may be hiding in the darkness.
🔦 WHAT YOU'LL FIND IN URBANISM
Liminal, atmospheric environments inspired by abandoned and unsettling urban spaces
First-person horror exploration
VHS / found-footage inspired visual style
Investigation system and progression
Evidence collection and objectives
Fuse and electrical systems requiring you to explore and restore parts of the environment

Investigation XP and progression system
Dynamic lighting, darkness and atmospheric environments
Multiple graphics and gameplay options
Investigation locations with more content planned for future updates
This is the first public release of Urbanism, and development will continue based on player feedback.
⚠️ KNOWN ISSUE — RESOLUTION / DISPLAY MODES
There is currently a known issue affecting Borderless Window mode on some systems.
Depending on your monitor and selected resolution, Borderless mode can cause:
Significantly lower FPS than expected
Performance that does not improve when lowering the resolution
In some configurations, an overly dark image
🛠️ CURRENT WORKAROUND
For now, if you experience this issue:
Use Windowed mode instead of Borderless Window.
Windowed mode currently provides the expected performance and avoids the darkness issue we encountered during testing.
You do not need to change your monitor settings. The issue is related to how the game handles certain display/resolution configurations.
I am actively investigating the underlying cause and will work on fixing the Borderless/resolution behaviour in a future update.
❤️ THANK YOU
Urbanism has been a huge solo-development project, and seeing it finally available on Steam is honestly surreal.
If you encounter bugs, performance problems, graphical issues or anything that doesn't behave correctly, please let me know through the Steam Discussions or reviews.
Your feedback will help determine what gets fixed and improved in future updates.
Thank you to everyone who wishlisted, tested, gave feedback, or simply followed the development of Urbanism.
Welcome to Urbanism.
The investigation begins now.
